A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 19th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the “Word of God made flesh”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another good “fall” morning in the Kingdom for us to savour and enjoy. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to grant you an extra measure of physical strength and good health as you tend to the ‘get-ready for a new season’ chore list.

Today I want to share a few quotes that I have come across that are causing me to do some pondering…and pondering is more fun if others are doing it too!

In an article entitled – “Is Your Church Ingrown?”, a quote by C.S. Lewis is used: the church is the only organisation that exists primarily for the benefit of others.

“The Christian life is not my responsibility. It is my response to His ability…it’s so sad that because we do not persevere the Church is not what it could be…I tell you, never is the work of the Holy Spirit demonstrated more wonderfully than when it is seen in the lives of those who are faithful.” – Selwyn Hughes.

While change for change’s sake is not always healthy, those resistant to change are usually resistant to the Holy Spirit…Jesus is not to be tried in small portions. He is to be surrendered to completely and wholeheartedly. Anything less will often have the opposite result than what He desired for us…Giving the Holy Spirit our nights is the way to start our day. Many would do better in the daytime if they’d learn how to give Him their nights  – Bill Johnson.

Just some things to ponder…be blessed!
