A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 April 24th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who has manifested the breadth, depth, and height of God’s love, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday – and that God’s presence was close to you in creative, redemptive ways. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to fill you with an indescribable joy – hope – peace.TMonday prayer gathering for our city and there was a beautiful and powerful ‘spirit’ moving among us. There were many expressions of God releasing words of insight and affirmation and challenge. Those who know me understand that God speaks to me through the words of song…so it is no surprise when I tell you that God gave me something to ponder from the lyrics of three songs.

The first words were – If on my soul a trace of sin remaineth-If on my hands a stain may yet be seen-If one dark thought my wearied mind retaineth- Then, forgive Lord, please forgive…

The next words were – Wash from my hands the dust of earthly striving-Take from my mind the stress of secret fear-Cleanse thou the wounds from all but Thee far hidden-And when your waters flow let my healing appear…

The final words were – If I have wounded any soul today-If I have caused one foot to go astray-If I have walked in my own wilful way-Forgive Lord please forgive

In my reading about the coming revival there has been much talk about this revival being anchored in a call for personal “holiness” – and holy living…so as I ponder, I wonder, what is God trying to communicate. Then this morning I get an email from a ministry site that opens with three questions: Do you ever feel like your desire for God waning? Are you numb to the routine of church? What does it mean to be truly awakened to the wonder of the Gospel?

I think that I need to step back and let Him speak…and clarify. May God speak to you today and call you to personal holiness!
