A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 April 19th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name of the Great ‘I AM’ of God, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom…a late winter’s day and—wait a minute, I thought this was early Spring!!?? Someone told me that this a new season called – “Sprinter” – that combines the best of two seasons! Whatever – this is still the day that God has made for us…and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to bring to your mind the people in your life that need to receive “grace and mercy” from you…and to give you an abundance of “grace and mercy” to give.

Actually, I was thinking that for some of us, as sports fans, are living in “four seasons” right now…maybe even “five!” There is hockey, baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer. No wonder there are confused and conflicted people all around us. However there is one season that is taking place around us that we don’t think about enough. It is the season of “God’s favour and grace” and it is bringing with itself a season of “Harvest” as men, women, and boys & girls are coming to God’s Kingdom family. I have been reading about “spiritual awakenings” taking place in some European  countries, in South America, in Southeast Asia, China, and South Korea. These are exciting times in our world…and we get to be part of it through intercessory prayer.

Did you notice the areas that weren’t mentioned above…North America – Canada and United States? I happen to believe, along with many, many others that there is an “awakening” – a revival, a refreshing, a renewal – coming our way. It seems to be like watching the waves coming up on a beach shoreline. They come in and then recede and come in again and recede. Each wave that comes in seems to carry an anointing that touches God’s people and is preparing the way for a spiritual tsunami. Each wave that recedes carries away a layer of sand and debris from the shoreline exposing the need to clean away the accumulation of life’s garbage – in our society, our community, and in our personal lives.

I believe that now is the time to pray – to acknowledge that we are God’s people, called by His Name; to humble ourselves and seek His face; to repent and turn away from our wicked ways ; so that God would hear us and forgive our sin and heal our land. Of course, you know that is an ancient promise…2 Chronicles 7:14, but all of the promises of God are going to be realized in the “yes” of Jesus Christ. As the old chorus goes…its coming this way- its coming this way – a mighty revival is coming this way – keep on believing, watch and pray – a mighty revival is coming this way!

May God stir your heart, mind, and spirit today!
