A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 April 11th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the name of the “one who sticks closer to you than a brother” Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Praise be to God for this “given day” – may we find a few dozen reasons to simply say ‘Thank You’! …we could start with 5 or 6 people that He has strategically placed in our lives and then for 5 or 6 things in our homes that we use every day but take for granted and then for 5 or 6 Bible verses that give us comfort and then…well we are on our way to 5 or 6 or more other reasons. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to give you the measure of health and strength that you need to meet the demands of this day.

How many times have we told someone that we will pray for them…and later found ourselves struggling with what to say and how to say it? I think there are times when we tell someone we are going to pray for them because we don’t know what else to say and that seems like what we should say. How many times has someone told you that they were going to pray for you and you smiled, saying ‘thank you’…and then wondered to yourself – “what are they going to pray?”

This past week God sent me a song and it really is helpful in addressing the above concerns. The song is sung by a young Christian songwriter/singer and is called – “My prayer for you” and I think I should get a few copies and hand them out to individuals as God directs and gives opportunity.

The words go like this: For anyone who’s prayed a thousand prayers-And still can’t find the answer anywhere-Fighting off the lie that no one cares-For anyone who’s out there losing hope-Feeling you’re forsaken and alone-Clinging to the last strands of your rope … May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater-Courage to rise and believe He’s able-May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through-This is my prayer for you-This is my prayer for you …May your eyes be ever on the Lord, your helper-May you find refuge in the Lord, your shelter-May you find Him closer than a brother all your days-All your days … For all of those with tired and weary souls-But still have faith to ask for miracles-Choosing to believe He’s in control … May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater-Courage to rise and believe He’s able-May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through-This is my prayer for you-This is my prayer for you.

Those are good words…wise words…powerful words…and words we can pray for others.

Have a day of blessings!
